Weekly update for February 9, 2024

Dear CES friends and families:

We have had another awesome week at Columbia ES! As you can see above, earlier this week our 1st graders enjoyed sharing their public speaking, communication, writing, and creative thinking skills through a culminating activity for a recent language arts unit. Across all of our grade levels and levels of educational services, CES provides unique opportunities for students to learn all about Portrait of a Graduate (POG) skills. In Virginia, the Profile of a Virginia Graduate encompasses the knowledge, skills, experiences and attributes that students must develop to succeed in life and be “future ready.” We are proud at Columbia ES of the hard work, planning and teaching that our educators do everyday to meet this goal for all students.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Take care,

Mike Astudillo
