Navy Update - 2.4.24

Hello Navy Community,

Navy teachers and staff inspire students in so many ways.  Here is another example of this in 5th grade.  As part of Ms. Balke's SCAMPER projects, her classes participated in a unique and engaging experience inspired by Shark Tank. In true Shark Tank style, our young entrepreneurs presented their innovative designs to a panel of parent "sharks." These students had the opportunity to showcase their working prototypes and articulate their creative ideas, answering questions from our parent judges.

This activity not only highlights the creativity and ingenuity of our students but also emphasizes the interconnectedness of subjects like math, science, art, and language arts. It's a fantastic example of how Navy students apply their knowledge in real-world, practical, and captivating ways.

Thanks to the parent "sharks" who played an important role in making this experience both educational and memorable.

Spring SEL Screener, Grades 3-6

tests

The Spring Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener will be administered to students in grades 3-6. Students will take the screener during the February 26th - March 15th window.  Students use the SEL Screener twice a year to share their perspectives on how well their school and community help them develop skills they need to succeed. The screener works by asking questions or presenting statements that students can think about and respond to.

More information is available about the SEL Screener by accessing this link:
