Save the Date for Lane’s 2024 Celebration of Cultures Night – Thursday, March 7th!

We are so excited for this year’s Celebration of Cultures Night on Thursday, March 7th. This family-favorite event returned strong last year after a three-year pandemic-related absence, and we’re hoping even more Lane Lion families will join us and share about their culture this year.

Look for a flyer with more details on how your family can participate in Wednesday Folders next week (February 7th).

News from the Lane Library: End-of-Quarter Overdue Notices

Students who have books that were due on or before January 25th should have received an overdue notice yesterday. Please do your best to look for these books and return them in good condition. It is also possible that books have been sent to school but have not yet made it to the library. If this is the case, apologies in advance for the crossed communication.

As a reminder, there are no fines for overdue books, however families are expected to pay the replacement cost for lost or damaged books.

Contact Sue Chozick, Librarian, at schozick@fcps.edu with any questions.

Rising 7th Grade Hayfield Course Selection Reminder and Upcoming Hayfield Parent Coffee

Course selection for 6th grade lions moving on to middle school next year is underway. Soon-to-be Twain Tigers have already submitted their choices, and rising Hayfield Hawks must return their hard-copy forms by next Thursday, February 8th. The 6th grade counselor, Mrs. Kasparek, will review forms and classes with students to discuss and answer questions around potential selection.

On Wednesday, February 7th, Hayfield Middle School’s Director of Student Services will host a Parent Coffee from 6 to 8 p.m. to answer questions about the transition to middle school. The event will be held in the Middle School Lecture Hall.
