Winter Assessment Reporting

  • iReady & ORF grades 1-6 reports will be posted via SIS ParentVUE in late February 
  • Virginia Growth Assessment (VGA) grades 3-8 reports will be posted via SIS ParentVUE or centrally mailed via U.S. Mail by early March
  • Social-Emotional Learning screener (SEL) grades 3-12 reports will be posted via SIS ParentVUE or centrally mailed via U.S. Mail by late April

Show What You Know: Submit your t-shirt design by Monday, February 5!

Wednesday, March 6, 6:30pm Registration is now open for Show What You Know, a well-loved Sunrise Valley tradition where students (K-6) demonstrate their knowledge or passion about a favorite subject. To participate, students must register by Wednesday, February 14. All participants will receive a free t-shirt designed by a Sunrise Valley student. The design should say: “Sunrise Valley Elementary School Show What You Know 2024”, be drawn with black ink on a letter size white piece of paper, and include the student's name, grade, and teacher on the back. Designs must be submitted here (or turned into the front office) by Monday, February 5. Questions? Contact Antonia Blackwood.


Spelling Bee: Takes place next week on Friday, February 9!

Friday, February 9, 6pm We're happy to share that we have over 40 students (K-6) participating in this year's Spelling Bee on Friday, February 9 at 6pm. This free PTA-sponsored event will take place in the school library with it being live streamed in the cafeteria for the families of the students participating. Viewers at home will also be able to access the live stream. We'll share a link on our Facebook group. Also, parents, families, and guardians can come with their children who aren't participating this year to encourage them to join next year. Questions? Contact Stephanie Kater and Megan Bailey


Participate in this year's Basketball Challenge!

Friday, April 12, evening The Basketball Challenge is an annual school event full of spirit and energy. Sunrise Valley students and teachers play against Fox Mill in a series of basketball challenges, while younger students support and cheer them on. Students from all grades are invited to participate!

  • Grade 6 students, play on our boys or girls basketball team! All are welcome (no tryouts). Register by Friday, February 16.
  • Grade K-2 students, join our Pep Rally Team! Learn a short dance routine at recess and perform at halftime. Register by Friday, March 29.
  • Grade 3-6 students, join our NEW Spirit Squad! Cheer from the sidelines and form a "high-five tunnel" through which each team will enter the courts. Register by Friday, March 29.

Parents! Volunteers are needed to coach students, lead cheering squads, and put on the event. Sign up here to volunteer or contact Jennifer Glynn to learn more.
