National School Counseling Week

February 5-9 is National School Counseling Week, and highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve academic success and planning for a career.School counselors work with students in a variety of different capacities, whether it is through classroom lessons, group sessions, or individual counseling. April is College and Careers Month at Hayfield ES

To celebrate the careers in our community, our students would love to hear and learn some interesting facts about your job. Please use the following Flipgrid link to post a one-minute video highlighting your career. During the month of April, teachers will play these videos for their class. We want to know about what you do for a living. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact one of the counselors.

Teens In Action 2024 (TAC)

Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Service offers Teen in Action program, March 25-29 for rising 7th- 12th graders. FLYER Featured Opportunities:

Eligibility, Fees & Scholarship Opportunities

  • Teens In Action is for youth ages 12 to 18 living in Fairfax County.
  • Admission to Teens In Action is FREE. Some activities and field trips will require a fee in order to participate.

Veterans History

African Americans serving in the military service throughout U.S. history have often fought on two fronts. Fighting the actual enemy and fighting a system of segregation and exclusion.

 

 

The 2024 MCEC Call for the Arts Contest is now open.

The MCEC Call for the Arts program invites military-connected children from all over the world, representing every branch of service, to share interpretations through art of what it means to be a military-connected child. Military-connected children are encouraged to share their experiences, dreams, & challenges through art.

Submissions will be accepted through April 30, 2024.
