National School Counseling Week - 2/5 - 2/9

February 5-9 is National School Counseling Week, and highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve academic success and planning for a career.School counselors work with students in a variety of different capacities, whether it is through classroom lessons, group sessions, or individual counseling. Learn more about the role of school counselors in FCPS.


Junior College Planning Night & Optional Class Dinner for Parents and Students

When: February 6, 2024, 7:00 p.m.

Where: LHS Auditorium

Parents and students, join us for an informative panel discussion led by college representatives. Come learn more about creating the college list, the admission process, testing, letters of recommendation and much more.

Optional Class dinner: Dinner begins at 5:45 p.m. in the cafeteria and will be catered by Cafe Rio. Tickers are $25 per person and are non-refundable. Please purchase your tickets on MySchoolBucks.


Instruction 2 Industry Career Expo Events

In February, school divisions across the region will team up with Virginia Ed Strategies to host the annual Instruction 2 Industry Career Expo event. This Northern Virginia regional event will allow high school students to connect virtually and in person, with more than 60 local industry professionals from in-demand career fields.  

The purpose of these FREE career exploration events is to provide students with opportunities to prepare for tomorrow’s workforce today. 

Virtual sessions will be held on February 5-8, from 4-7 p.m., and the in-person Career Expo and Job Fair event will be held on Saturday, February 17, from 1-4 p.m., in the North Hall of the Dulles Expo Center.

SENIORS - 7th Semester Grades reported to Colleges on Monday, Feb 12th

Langley High School sends out mid-year grades (officially called 7th semester grades) to any college a student has submitted a transcript request on Monday, February 12, 2024.   The grade that shows on SIS at 6am is what will be sent to schools.  Due to processing timelines, please know that there are no exceptions to this date.  Any questions can be directed to Transcript Assistant, Mrs. Laura Skeen at lsskeen@fcps.edu


PTSA Langley Trivia Contest

Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate Saxon trivia champion or do you simply want to have fun? Then come out to Langley Trivia – a free, fun competition after school on Wed, Feb 14th, from 3:00-4:30pm in the cafeteria. There will be music, prizes, free Chick-fil-a and pizza.

PTSA Reflection Winners 

Congratulations to the five Langley HS PTSA students whose Reflections entries earned Outstanding Interpretation Award & Award of Excellence at the Fairfax County Council level.

DIVERSEartLANGLEY Art Exhibition

Call for Submissions:

All students are encouraged to submit art to the annual PTSA-sponsored DIVERSEartLANGLEY art exhibition, which will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024.

This year's driving question: What does freedom mean to you?

All art forms encouraged: photography, painting/drawing, sculpture, written word, music, dance.

PLEASE NOTE: You are welcome to submit your original art also shown in the Langley Pyramid Art Show.

Students who attend the exhibition and are available to discuss their submission with attendees will receive ONE HOUR OF COMMUNITY SERVICE .

Submissions will be collected Thursday, February 8, and Friday, February 9, from 7:45am-8:15am in Langley Hall.

Missing an item? It may be in Langley’s very large lost & found collection. Please stop by the lost and found box located in the cafeteria.


No Food Deliveries

Please note that students are not allowed to receive food deliveries during the school day due to security concerns. If a student needs food, they can contact their counselor, cafeteria staff, or administrator for assistance.
