Registration
Registration for the LJMS Track & Field Team is now open. Student athletes wishing to participate need to complete TWO STEPS:
1. Fill out the official FCPS Spring Season Registration Form. (even if you filled it out in the fall for cross country, you'll need to fill it out again for the spring season)
2. Have a completed FCPS Middle School Sports Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Physical Examination Form (PPE). The exam must be completed by a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant. Please note that the form must be dated on or after May 1, 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year. (if you did this for the fall cross country season, you do NOT need to do it again.)
New Physical Forms should be turned in to:

Shot Put, Long Jump
Running Events:
100 (sprint), 200 (sprint), 400 (sprint), 800 (distance), 1600 (distance)
Practice Schedule
TBD. Once athletes have signed up, the coaches will communicate a practice schedule that may include some informal "running club" dates in February to get ready for the season, and then "official" practices starting in March. Plan on 2 or 3 practices per week, on late bus days.
Meet Schedule
All MS Track meets will take place at high school facilities starting at 8:00am. There are 5 meet dates, and each school will participate in 4 meets, with one "bye" week. All student athletes will ride a team bus to the meets from LJMS.

April 20: @ Fairfax HS
April 27: @ Woodson HS
May 4: @Madison HS
May 11: @West Potomac HS
Interest Meeting
We will hold an official "interest meeting" in February for parents and student athletes to answer as many of your questions as we can. For now, we just want to start collecting registrations and give you a chance to complete your physical if you haven't done so already. More information is coming!
We have official LJMS Athletics Spirit Wear! The online store will be open from January 12- February 2, at which point it will close to process and send orders out. All payments are collected through the online store, and orders will be shipped directly to your home.
