🚍 Here Comes the Bus

Want to know if your child's bus is on schedule or where the bus is? Here Comes the Bus® is an easy-to-use website and app that enables parents to see the location of their child’s school bus — almost in real time — on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer.

Parents can track multiple buses if their children don’t all ride the same bus; know exactly when children arrive at school or the bus stop; and receive customized text and/or email notifications about bus locations, schedule changes, or delays.

To get started, download the app from the Apple iOS or Android app store. Check out the Here Comes the Bus and Frequently Asked Questions webpages for more information.

Already using the Here Comes the Bus app? Send your feedback to HCTB@fcps.edu.

Note: eNotify text messaging will continue to be used for reporting bus delays and bus incidents.

Where's the Math?

Each week we will share a new image in News You Choose.  Because math is everywhere, each image has some math to discover!

  • With your child/children, think about…
    • What are you noticing in the image?
    • What math do you see in the image?
    • What math questions might you ask?
    • What math questions can you answer?
  • ArrayChat Questions
    • How many do you see?
    • How do you see them?
    • What number sentences/equations can you use with this image?

See this week's picture below.

Critical and Creative Thinking

Hello Forest Edge Families!

Are you looking for a way to challenge your reader at home? Consider giving the “Six Thinking Hats” a try. This strategy asks readers to apply a different type of thinking as they take on new perspectives. Check out this website to guide your child’s learning at home. After using books to support the thinking hats, your child can then learn to apply these strategies to real-world situations and scenarios. If you try out the thinking hats or have any questions, email Mrs. Thompson at eethompson@fcps.edu to share about your experience.

Thank you!

FCPS CARES Program

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. Every month a committee selects CARES of the Month recipients – one from each of the regions and one from central office. These employees are recognized in-person at their worksite, on the FCPS website, and receive a certificate and engraved enamel pin.

We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees. Anybody may submit an FCPS CARES for an employee through filling out the form at https://www.fcps.edu/careers/employeerecognition-programs/fcps-cares-program
