Welcome to the second semester of the year! We have lots of fun events coming up, including the much-anticipated RCMS basketball games.

2023-2024 Rachel Carson Reflections Contest Winners
Music Composition Category Winner: 8th Grader, Heidi H. with her musical piece, “Hopes and Highs”
Visual Arts Category Winner: 7th Grader, Ushi S., with her visual art piece, “Blossom of Resilience”
Please join us in cheering on our winners as they compete at the Regional Level! Winners will be contacted individually for prize redemption.

Scholastic Reading Initiative Fundraiser
Help us support student literacy! We are excited to announce a new fundraiser for our school that aims to provide our students with a wide selection of Scholastic magazines for Carson Kids Read, our weekly independent reading time during Panther Time. As an educational institution, we believe in the importance of fostering a love for reading and ensuring that our students are well-informed about the world around them. That is why we are partnering with Scholastic to offer a variety of engaging and informative magazines that cover a range of topics, such as science, technology, history, art, health, and current events. With these magazines, students will have the opportunity to explore and learn in an enjoyable and accessible way.
By contributing to our fundraiser, you will not only be providing our students with invaluable reading materials, but you will also be fostering their curiosity, critical thinking skills, and global awareness. With your support, we can ensure that our classrooms are stocked with a wide selection of magazines that cater to the diverse interests and reading levels of our students. Together, let us empower our students to become avid readers and well-informed global citizens.

Basketball Game! 🏀
Basketball Game with Langston Hughes Middle School on Thursday, March 14th at South Lakes High School. Doors open at 5:00 pm and Games start at 6:00 pm.
We will have Spirit wear and pizza, snacks, and beverage concessions sales at the game.
Pre-sale tickets for $8 will be available next month for purchase. Tickets at the door are $10. Plan to bring cash to expedite door sales.

We will also have another game with Stone Middle School on Thursday, March 21st at Westfield High School. Doors open at 5:00 pm and Games start at 6:00 pm.
