Winter Party

Hello Stone Panther Families,

I am thrilled to share some highlights from the first week of the third quarter. We started the week with some special visitors. We were honored to have Mr. Moon (School Board Member At Large) and Ms. Dixit (Sully District School Board Member) in the building on Monday.  Their visit provided a fantastic opportunity for them to witness the positive learning environment we cultivate here at Stone. While they were here touring our campus, meeting students and staff we were delightfully surprised to be joined by Dr. Reid, Superintendent.  All visitors got a chance to see our daily outdoor break and several classrooms. I was so proud of the many students who introduced themselves and asked questions of our visitors.

Mr. Davis, Assistant Principal, even had the privilege of recording a podcast with our special guests. Click here to watch our Podcast with Dr. Reid. Stay tuned for the release of other podcasts including the one with Ms. Dixit & Mr. Moon, as we go through the year with this exciting platform. Ultimately, the goal is that our Paws & Listen Podcast will be completely student run  sharing our stories with our community.

We ended the week with over 100 students partying after school at our Winter Dance. Several students played minute-to-win-it games and won some wonderful prizes.  Thanks to Mr. Anderson, DJ Davis and the after school staff for providing this fun activity for our students.

With all the excitement this past week, the upcoming week promises to be bustling with activity as well, as we eagerly anticipate visits from our neighboring elementary schools. It's an excellent opportunity for our future students to experience the positive atmosphere  here at Stone. We encourage our current students to extend a warm welcome and showcase the warmth and inclusivity that defines our school community.

Families, mark your calendars for our upcoming Curriculum Night which will take place this Thursday evening! This evening is designed to provide valuable insights into the courses offered next school year for rising 7th and 8th-grade students. It's an excellent opportunity to meet teachers, ask questions, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the exciting educational journey that lies ahead.

Guess what? We're about to hit the big 100 on Thursday – the 100th day of school, that is! 🎉Reaching the 100th day is a testament to the commitment, dedication, and hard work demonstrated by our students, teachers, staff, and parents alike.

After we hit the 100….let’s cheer on our student athletes as we kick off the after-school sports basketball season with our first game at Liberty MS this Friday night. Let's come together as a community to support our teams, celebrate sportsmanship, and build lasting memories.

As we reflect on this eventful first week of the third quarter, I want to express my gratitude to the entire Stone community for your continued support. Together, we are creating an environment where our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Let’s have a great week Panthers!
