This Week at Madison - 1/29/24

THIS WEEK AT MADISON

WEEK OF 1/29/24

IMPORTANT INFO & EVENTS

January 302024 Gap Year Fair, 6pm-8:30pm at Marshall HS. Register here.

Parking on James Madison Drive.  We have seen an increase in non-Madison vehicles, especially snow plowing equipment, parked along James Madison Drive.  We reached out to Fairfax County and found out that neither Madison nor FCPS can control who parks here.  We have sold all of our allotted gravel lot spots.  Please help your student plan accordingly.

Attendance Summary Emails.  Attendance Summary emails will be sent to all parents and students this week.  Please be on the lookout for an email from Ms. Calvert that explains the information included in the Attendance Summary.

Current Madison students will be meeting one-on-one with their school counselors to finalize their course selections on the following dates:

  • 10th Grade (Rising Juniors) – January 29 – February 7 (meetings through English 10 classes)
  • 11th Grade (Rising Seniors) – February 9 – February 27 (meetings through US History classes)
  • 9th Grade (Rising Sophomores) – February 28 – March 13 (meetings through PE 9)

Students will be notified of their specific date for a meeting through their Advisory on January 11. Students who are not taking these courses at Madison HS this year will be contacted by their counselor to schedule their Advising meeting.

Science Fair- Judges Needed!

One School | One Community | One World

Madison High School strives to create and maintain an identity affirming learning environment where our students embrace, support, and encourage each other where multiple forms of identity (i.e. race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or disability) are recognized and regarded as assets for teaching and learning. We work to ensure school is a place where students feel safe and can be themselves. We do not tolerate hate speech, racist speech, bias, or acts of discrimination in our school. We want all students to feel a sense of belonging. We want to see all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to learning, growing, and building the best Madison High School for all our students. We are One School - One Community - One World.
