Ram Gram

Volume 2, Issue 14; January 27, 2024

Dear CRES Community,

As part of our commitment to ensuring the best possible educational experience for your child, we are writing to inform you about an important matter regarding student absences.

In early February, a letter will be mailed home notifying you about your child's absences from school. We understand that there can be various reasons for student absences, including illness, family emergencies, and other unavoidable circumstances. However, consistent attendance is crucial for your child's academic progress and overall well-being.

Each day of instruction contributes to your child's academic growth and development. Therefore, we kindly request your cooperation in prioritizing regular attendance and minimizing unnecessary absences.

If your child is experiencing any challenges that may affect their attendance or academic performance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Our school counselors, teachers, and administrative staff are here to support you and your child in any way we can.

Stay tuned! We are about to unveil several engagement initiatives and incentives aimed at encouraging all families to join us in our mission to boost student attendance.

Warmly,

Dr. Hertzberg, Ms. Wu, Ms. Baugh, Ms. Helmer, and Ms. Ford

Stop motion animation is just one way our "creatologists" are exploring their #critical and #creative thinking skills!

Next year, all our 5th and 6th graders will have iPads!

For more information on Portrait of a Graduate, ask your child how they are a communicator, collaborator, critical and creative thinker, goal-directed and resilient individual, or ethical and global citizen. Or, click here!

Executive function allows children to improve their abilities to stay focused, plan ahead, regulate their emotions, and think flexibly and creatively.

Cultivating these skills, the research suggests, should be a priority from elementary school through high school—and perhaps even into college—and executive function remains one of the most reliable predictors of success in academics and in life...
