- February 19th - President's Day
Powell Families,
We are excited to celebrate Lunar New Year schoolwide on Friday, February 2nd after the exciting celebration last year! Students will engage in various cultural experiences and learning throughout the school day with an assembly of community performance groups, including our students, and we hope to enhance our students’ experience with appropriate snacks as well. If you feel so inclined, please take a look at this SignUp Genius link to consider making donations. All donations must be received at school by 9:30am on Monday, January 29th.

We're looking forward to welcoming our new kindergarten students in the 2024-25 school year! Registration for new kindergartners is now open!
WHO: Parents or guardians of rising kindergartners—children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2024.
WHAT: Register your child for the 2024-25 school year in an easy, two-step process.
WHY: Completing registration early will help us be ready to welcome your new kindergartner and make sure your child is eligible for summer enrichment activities.
HOW: Much of the registration process, including the uploading of documents needed for registration, can be completed online.
WHERE: Registration is on the FCPS website. Go to https://www.fcps.edu/registration/kindergarten-registration.

Join us on Friday, February 9 for our annual Bingo Night Fundraiser! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for pizza. Bingo will be played from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Deadline to order cards is Wednesday, January 31.

Upon registration for the Bee, you will receive the Study Words with your registration receipt. The Spelling Bee is open to students in all grades. The top 15 spellers from the first round will advance to the final round on February 22nd.
