Late Arrivals to School - Unexcused Tardies

We have noticed a considerable increase in the number of students who arrive late to Cooper via parent drop off. When students are late, they miss valuable class instruction. Beginning in the third quarter, students who are late to school (unexcused) three times within the quarter will meet with staff, and be assigned an after-school detention for any subsequent tardy. As a reminder, Kiss and Ride opens at 7:00 each morning. *Students who ride the school bus are excused tardy if there is a bus delay.*

Calendar Reminders

  • Thursday, Jan. 25 - End of 2nd Quarter- 2-hour early release. No After School clubs!
  • Friday, Jan. 26 - Student Holiday/Teacher Workday

Thursday, January 25, is the last day of the quarter and a two-hour early release for students. Also, schools are closed for students on Friday, January 26, for a teacher work day. See the complete school year calendar.

2nd Semester Schedules

Monday, January 29th marks the start of the 2nd semester of the 2023-2024 school year. Some of our students will begin new semester electives for the 2nd half of the school year. In addition, some QSTs (Block 10) change as well. Student schedules will be available in StudentVue and ParentVue at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 26th. Please log in and note your child's 2nd semester schedule and write down any notes they may need to help remember where to go. Cooper staff members will be available throughout the day to assist any students that need support locating their new classrooms.

Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, families in the Langley Pyramid are joining together again this year at Colvin Run Elementary School to help children in need. In partnership with Rise Against Hunger, the Langley pyramid elementary, middle, and high schools are coming together with a goal to prepare 75,000 meal packages for schools and orphanages around the world. Sign up for a volunteer time slot!

Students are encouraged to donate loose change or money that they earn and wish to donate to Rise Against Hunger. Students should bring in any money they would like to donate. Each school will collect money January 8-January 31. Each meal costs only 46 cents to make. For just $15, you can donate over 32 meals; $30 will make over 65 meals and $100 will make nearly 220 meals.

In order to reach our goal of 75,000 meals, the Langley Pyramid needs to raise $35,000 by January 31st If your company makes matching contributions, please consider having them join you in making a tax-deductible donation today at: Langley Pyramid Rise Against Hunger 2024 and help us Rise Against Hunger.
