Calling all Dads/Male Caregivers! Make a lasting impact in your child's education. WATCH D.O.G.S are hosting Donuts with Dads on February 9, 2024. at 8:45 am. Dads/Male Caregivers play a crucial role in the life of their child/ren. Friendly Reminder
PTA Parent Coffee on January 25, 2024 at 9:00-10:00 am.
KMES parents and caretakers are invited to the cafeteria the morning of Thursday, Jan. 25 for a Coffee Catch-Up from 9-10 AM. All families, but especially those new to Keene Mill or who were unable to attend the fall Open House, are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Members of the Keene Mill administration, the PTA board, school counselors, and our new Family Liaison contact will be there to welcome families, answer any questions, and discuss upcoming events for 2024. Please stop by to catch up over coffee and treats!

 Reminder: Thursday, January 25, is the last day of the quarter and a two-hour early release for students. Keene Mill will dismiss at 2:00 pm. Also, schools are closed for students on Friday, January 26, for a teacher work day.

Encouraging School Attendance In Elementary School
Regular attendance in elementary school is a strong predictor of grade-level performance. Attending school regularly helps students feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT KEENE MILL
There are several opportunities to volunteer at Keene Mill! Please sign up through our PTA website: keenemillpta.ptboard.com.
Family Science Night is TUESDAY, FEB. 27. Volunteers are needed to make this a superb scientific event! With help from the Virginia Children's Science Center, volunteers will lead various science activity stations in the Keene Mill gymnasium and cafeteria or help direct foot traffic and manage crowds.
Our amazing KMES music teachers have asked for volunteers to help with the 5th and 6th grade chorus rehearsals on WEDNESDAY MORNINGS this spring.
The PTA has openings in both its Board Nominating Committee and Audit Committee. They meet in May and July, respectively.

Magnets and Vinyl Stickers will be delivered to your students' classroom upon completion of the order. Please allow 3-5 days to receive the magnets and stickers.
