Dear Panther Families,

What a difference a week makes--it's hard to believe we had inches of snow this time last week and today it feels like springtime!

We have made it to the end of the 2nd quarter and halfway through the 2023-2024 school year! We are excited to see all our students back on Monday for the beginning of the 3rd quarter. We hope that everyone enjoys the weekend!

Sincerely,

Gina O'Neal, Principal

Kristen Robinson, Assistant Principal

Christine Berry, Assistant Principal

Safe Students, Safe Schools

Fairfax County Public Schools believes that academic success is built on the foundation of a safe learning environment. This includes physical safety, and mental health and wellness.

FCPS has a comprehensive approach to safety that involves physical security measures, online monitoring by security staff, and crisis intervention support. The division has created the Safe Students, Safe Schools Brochure (PDF) to enhance your awareness of potential hazards and to equip you with practical tips for how you can help. Visit the FCPS website for more information.

💝FCPS Cares!

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees at Mt Vernon Woods ES. We love our MVWES staff members, let's tell them how we feel!
