Matchy Match Day

We have a special spirit day on Thursday, January 25th. It’s Matchy Match Day. Show your spirit by dressing like a friend or a group of friends or even a whole class!  Wear the same color or style or shoes or even a hat. Show acceptance! Try to make sure everyone who wants to participate is included!

The other spirit days for the year are:

March 22nd - Sports Day: Show your spirit by wearing something related to sports - maybe a uniform for a team you are on or something you wear when you exercise or a jersey for a team you like.

June 7th - Decade Day: Show your spirit and wear clothing from any decade- past or future!

Clermont ES would like to introduce you to the Three Wishes Bookshop!

Three Wishes Bookshop is a children's mobile bookshop serving the Alexandria/Kingstowne community. The bookshop’s customized van carries hundreds of new titles for kids ages 0-12 plus crates of used/donated books available to children for free. It is run by Patti Exstein, a recently retired FCPS elementary school reading specialist and long-time Alexandria resident. The Three Wishes Bookshop’s goal is to ignite the joy and love of reading in every child who explores this mobile shop. The bookshop will be at Clermont in tandem with the 5th and 6th grade math night on Wednesday, January 24 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, and will be located in the Kiss and Ride lane. Families with children in grades k - 6 are invited to come explore the book van!

Three Wishes Bookshop will also support the PTA’s fundraising efforts by donating 20% of our sales during this event to the PTA. We hope to see you there!

PTA Silent Auction

An image with a Mardi Gras mask advertises the 2024 PTA Silent Auction.

The greeting for Mardi Gras in French translates to "let the good times roll"! And that is just what we want to do. After a successful return last year, the Clermont Elementary PTA Silent Auction will return in 2024!!!! The event will be held at the beautiful ALX atrium in Alexandria (on the corner of Washington and Duke Streets) on Saturday March 9th at 6:00pm! There will be a live band (Diplomatic Immunity), plenty of delicious food and great drinks. The PTA Silent Auction is one of our largest fundraising events of the year.  It allows the PTA to sponsor a vast number of programs throughout the year that benefit ALL Clermont students, including Enrichment Programs, School Field Trips, Classroom Instructional Supplies, New Technology, Assemblies, and more.  Please click on the "Tickets" tab in the link to purchase your pass to this event and let the good times roll!

Purchase your tickets here!

We need volunteers to make the auction a success! To inquire about volunteering, please click here.

STEM + Families Science Festival

National PTA STEM + Families banner

The Clermont PTA is hosting a STEM + Families Science Festival, sponsored by Bayer, on February 9 from 6:00-7:30pm. The Science Festival is designed to promote opportunities for families to participate in shared, hands-on science activities and to help kids experience and explore activities and careers in STEM.

The goal is for caregivers, children, and their peers to participate in each experiment together. You and your child will explore how much fun science can be. You will also learn simple projects you can do at home to foster your student’s interest in STEM.

The event will be held in Clermont’s gym and cafeteria. There will be five experiment stations in each of two different grade level groups, K-2 and grades 3-6. Volunteers will help facilitate the experiments, and families will also receive easy-to-follow steps and can work at their own pace.

Space is limited! Registration closes January 24 or once registration fills. One adult per family is required to attend the event. Please register each child separately for the event by going to: http://tinyurl.com/5zwm7ytx

Please consider volunteering for part of the evening! To hold this event, the PTA needs at least 24 volunteers to sign up for a shift. Shifts will also allow volunteers to participate in the festival with their families. We need help with set-up, family check-in, experiment facilitation, and clean-up. To volunteer, go to http://tinyurl.com/5yt9fsyv

We hope you will join us for a night of interactive science experiments! Email Rachel Stanley Nguyen (rachelastanley@gmail.com) and Jessica Hammersla (vpenrichment@clermontpta.org) with questions.
