Dear Wolftrap Families,

Despite the weather, I hope that you and your family were able to reach out in service to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday. I’m always moved by his words about love and light driving out darkness and hate. I believe that first steps toward that light are working in community and service for each other.

I hope you had a happy snow day!! If you have not heard, there will be some frigid weather this week! 😊 A reminder that we plan on having recess during cold days. Please make sure that your child comes to school appropriately ready for time outside during recess. There are common sense factors that we consider when playing outdoors, including wind chill, sunshine and the length of time spent outdoors. Recess is typically 30 minutes, but it may be shortened in the event of wind chill advisories or warnings. Regardless, please make sure your child is bundled up because we will most likely venture outside! If students are not appropriately dressed for very cold weather (including shorts), teachers may elect to have that student stay inside. Thank you for your help.

Our best to you,

Dr. Maggie Grove, Principal

Ms. Lisa O’Donovan, Assistant Principal

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Ms. Stephanie Tise teaches fourth grade at Wolftrap. She has been a teacher for 10 years, 7 of those at Wolftrap! Ms. Tise loves the strong community at Wolftrap that extends throughout our school and community. She enjoys Saturday, when she can snuggle with the dog and have a good cup of coffee. Her dream job was to be an artist in France. While she has not become an artist, YET, we are “très joyeux” to have her at Wolftrap.
