Woodburn Families,

What a wild week of snow and student learning. We must admit, it was hard for all of us to stay focused as we celebrated all things snow - our first snow day, playing in the snow at recess, and engaging in many student conversations about future snow days.

We look forward to wrapping up the second quarter next week. It is a great time to ask your child what they currently like most about school. Please share with us and your child's teacher!

Together We Grow,

Katy & Kelley

Body Safety Program

We are looking forward to our second year of hosting the body safety program at Woodburn in partnership with Fairfax County. Speak Up Be Safe lessons will occur during the week of February 5th- 9th 2024. Parent information letters including opt-out forms have been sent home in Thursday folders. The lessons take place in each classroom with trained facilitators from the county and teach the body safety rules below in age appropriate ways. Please reach out to the school social worker, Molly Buchanan at mabuchanan@fcps.edu or program coordinator Francesca Lovitt at: Francesca.Lovitt@fairfaxcounty.gov with any questions.
