🎶Langley Madrigals

On Thursday, the Langley Madrigals Chorus visited our Forestville students. There were several Forestville Alum in the group. We really enjoyed their performance, having an opportunity to sing along, and learning about all of the opportunities to get involved in music!

❄️ Preparing for Winter Weather

Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather-related closing decisions are made.

FCPS’ website is generally the first place where we will post an emergency weather closing. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated

Be sure to plan for the winter season. Make sure your contact information is up-to-date in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and plan for childcare if appropriate.

Rise

Rise Against Hunger

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, families in the Langley Pyramid are joining together again this year to help children in need. In partnership with Rise Against Hunger, the Langley pyramid elementary, middle, and high schools are coming together with a goal to prepare 83,000 meal packages for schools and orphanages around the world.

Donate and help raise money for the event:

Each student is encouraged to donate loose change or money that they earn and wish to donate to Rise Against Hunger. They will soon bring home a small box in which to collect this money. Students should bring in any money they would like to donate. Each school will collect money January 8th-January 31st.  Each meal costs only 46 cents to make. For just $15, you can donate over 32 meals; $30 will make over 65 meals and $100 will make nearly 220 meals.

In order to reach our goal of 75,000 meals, the Langley Pyramid needs to raise $35,000 by January 31st  If your company makes matching contributions, please consider having them join you in making a tax-deductible donation today at: Langley Pyramid Rise Against Hunger 2024 and help us Rise Against Hunger.
