Notes from the Nest

In our SEES school community, we S.O.A.R., meaning that we demonstrate: Support, Optimism, Acceptance, and Responsibility.

Dear SEES Families,

Welcome back to another week of learning and growing at Springfield Estates! This week, our Nest is buzzing with excitement, and I'm thrilled to share some of our upcoming events and important reminders.

Buzzing with Spelling Bee Excitement:  Get ready to cheer for our brightest minds as the annual Spelling Bee takes center stage on Tuesday, February 20, at 5 PM! Students from across grade levels will put their spelling prowess to the test, battling it out for the coveted champion title. Come join us in the cafeteria at 5PM to witness this intellectual showdown and support our spelling superstars!

ST Math Minutes: A Challenge Worth Taking:  This week marks the launch of the exciting ST Math Minutes Challenge! Throughout the week, students will strive to log 60,000 minutes of practice on the engaging ST Math platform. This challenge isn't just about racking up points; it's about building critical thinking skills, fostering problem-solving abilities, and mastering essential mathematical concepts in a fun and interactive way. Let's encourage our young mathematicians to embrace this challenge and unlock their full potential!

SOARing with Great Attendance:  Speaking of reaching new heights, we're excited to announce our "SOARing with Great Attendance" poster contest, sponsored by our local Wendy's! Students are invited to unleash their creativity and design posters that celebrate the importance of regular attendance. Why is good attendance so crucial? It's the foundation for academic success, fostering consistent learning and engagement. So, grab an entry paper, your art supplies, let your imagination take flight, and show us why being present in the Nest matters! Remember, all participants will receive a freebie coupon from Wendy's, just for joining in the fun. The deadline for submissions is January 31st, and the winning posters will be proudly displayed throughout the school.

End-of-Quarter Check-In:  As the first quarter draws to a close, we encourage families to take some time to review their student's progress. Check for missing or incomplete assignments, and work together to ensure all outstanding tasks are completed before the end of the quarter. Remember, strong communication and collaboration between families and teachers are essential for student success.

I'm incredibly proud of the positive energy and dedication that fills our Nest every day. Thank you for your continued support, and let's keep SOARing towards a successful and rewarding school year!

Sincerely,

April Martin
Proud Principal
