FCPS Community Conversation to Raise Awareness about Fentanyl and Other Drugs
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) invites you to a community conversation focused on addressing the opioid crisis within Northern Virginia and Fairfax County Public Schools. The discussion during this event will center on providing families and students with valuable knowledge about the dangers of drugs and deadly fentanyl. Together, as a community, we aim to explore collaborative strategies to minimize the impact of these harmful and sometimes fatal substances.

🔢 FCPS Virtual Math Week: Save the Date
Get ready for Virtual Math Week from Monday, January 8, through Friday, January 12. Save the date for a week filled with stories, games, and math activities, in English and Spanish, for families with students in kindergarten through eighth grade. This is a free experience designed to make math fun for the whole family. Learn more about FCPS Math Week.
⛄ Snow Days This Winter
FCPS will not have virtual learning when school is closed due to inclement weather for the 2023-24 school year.
Eleven snow days are built into our existing calendar. Eliminating virtual learning days will enable us to maximize students’ in-person learning and provide equitable access to instruction and student services.
You are encouraged to share ideas for learning about winter that students can use during winter break and snow days. Email ideas to WinterDiscovery@fcps.edu.

Playground Shade Initiative Working Group: Hello CFES families! Are you interested in our children playing on a shaded playground at school? If yes, please consider joining a small working group of parents led by interested Kindergarten Parent, Devina Shah, to help gather information between January-March toward making this a possibility! Ongoing Volunteer Support in the CFES Library! Our wonderful librarian, Ms. Hawk, is in need of weekly and consistent volunteer support in the library, so that she can focus on teaching our children during Library Class. Tasks include reshelving books, and checking books in and out for our students. If you are interested in supporting her in the Library whenever your schedule permits, please reach out to her at mahawk@fcps.edu. Thank you!
