Franklin MS Winter Music Assembly on December 15, 2023

Good afternoon, Franklin Community,

For the first time since the pandemic, we kicked off the holiday season with an in-school performance from our talented band, orchestra and chorus groups!  It was so fun to have our students showcase their talents in front of their peers and those in the audience were truly enjoying the festive music.  Speaking of festive spirit, I also want to share our extreme gratitude to our PTA and the many families that supported our hot chocolate bar yesterday.  It was such a fun and thoughtful way to show appreciation for our staff and give us that much needed extra boost of energy to finish off this week strong!

As we head into winter break, I want to yet again express my gratitude for this entire school community.  It continues to be such an honor to serve as your interim principal and I have truly enjoyed the opportunities to connect with our students, staff and so many community members.  Thank you for trusting us with your children and I look forward to continuing our partnership into the new year.

As we have done in past years, our staff has committed to not assigning any homework assignments over the break that will be due immediately upon our return in January.  Similarly, no assessments will be given those first few days back.  We want to ensure this holiday break provides time for our students to connect with their families and loved ones.  Similarly, I have asked our staff to disconnect from work as much as possible during this break so they, too, can have that same opportunity with families and loved ones.  Our office will be closed over winter break but we very much look forward to connecting back with everyone on January 2nd.

I wish you all a wonderful winter break, holiday season and Happy New Year!  Safe travels to those of you hitting the road and please reach out to me at MLCase@fcsp.edu with anything you might need.

Sincerely,

Michelle Case

Interim Principal

Congratulations VEX Robotics Team!!

On Saturday December 9, 2023, Franklin’s very own Robotics Team competed in the Annual Mark Twain Middle School Area VEX Robotics Scrimmage in Alexandria, Virginia.  Team co-drivers, Hayden T. and Kaichen L. won First Place in the competition.  Team Franklin Advisor, and Sponsor of ‘Robo Mondays’, Mr. Adams, says it was Kaichen’s and Hayden’s persistent practice, planning and communication that helped them win not only First Place overall, but also First Place in the Drivers Skills Challenge, earning nearly double the points of other teams.

The team also won the “Amaze” Award for ‘… the team that has built the most consistently high scoring and competitive robot.’  The Robotics club meets every Monday after school.  Please click here for more information.  Congratulations, Kaichen and Hayden!
