Happy New Year Union Mill Families,

It is great to have students back in the building starting to kickoff the new year. Many of our students are reviewing routines and procedures, connecting with peers and setting themselves up for a successful 2024. We are looking forward to our first principal's coffee of 2024 next week and hope to see you there.

FCPS Math Week

FCPS Family Math Week will be next week, January 8th-12th for students K-8. Through rich, story-based math experiences, Math Week offers families an opportunity to experience math, literacy, history, and geography in a positive way. All content will be available for free directly to all families in English and Spanish on this website and linked through your student’s Schoology page. Help us to reach our goal of 1 million minutes of math county-wide! Families can play for as little as 15 minutes or replay over and over! If you have any questions, you can contact our Math Resource Teacher, Caitlin Tingle, at cbtingle@fcps.edu.

UMES SCA Sponsored FISHER HOUSE Drive

For thirty years, Fisher House has provided a home away from home for military families who have a patient receiving medical care.  This means if a military family has a family member who needs surgery or other medical care, they can stay at a Fisher House near the hospital for free.  In order to help the family concentrate on their loved one, the house is fully stocked for them. From January 8th to January 19th, the SCA will be collecting the items listed below.  There are collection boxes on the stage in the lobby and SCA members will be collecting from classrooms too. Please consider donating something from the list to help our military families.  Thank you!
