Dear GBW,
Our students, staff, and families have been working hard all year and we are so proud of our students' accomplishments! We are excited about the upcoming Winter Break and hope each of your families finds the much needed time to relax and recharge.
Greenbriar West will be closing the front office during Winter Break so we, too, can have some time off to recharge. If you have a concern that needs immediate attention, please contact the Region 5 office at 571-423-1150. If you’d like to leave a message, please call 703-633-6700 and your call will be returned (Jan. 2, 2024) when school resumes.
We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. Parents, Guardians, and Students- in alignment with FCPS, Mr. Cook and I have asked GBW teachers to not assign any homework over Winter Break so students and families can truly unplug and relax. While we as a school will not be assigning homework, we do believe daily reading is still a very relaxing activity and encourage students and families to find a few great books to read over Winter Break.

Our PTA partnered with our Social Committee to spoil our staff this week with treats and fun surprises each day. PTA- thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and all the appreciation you show towards our staff. Savage Panda
New Video Release
After several months of hard work, Savage Panda released their latest video, Free Kicks, last week. The video is about a team of soccer players who through a news show share all the events and challenges they face during the course of their championship season.
UPCOMING VIDEO
In January registration will begin for the next Savage Panda crew. Recording will take place on Friday afternoons beginning in February and end in May. Go to the links below for more information.

Cell Phones & Smart Watch Reminders
This is a friendly reminder that Fairfax County Public Schools has the following regulations and guidelines in place for the use of cell phones and smart watches in schools as described in Regulation 2601.37P.
"Cell phones must be silenced and in backpacks for the duration of the school day. Smart watches that serve a dual purpose may be worn, but the phone features (texting, Internet viewing, and calls) are to be off when phone use is prohibited. Students are prohibited from using phones, tablets, and other mobile devices in restrooms and locker rooms, unless there is a medical necessity or emergency. Teachers may allow usage of cell phones for instructional activities when appropriate. Cell phones may be used on campus before and after school only."

Donations Needed
Please consider donating gently used or new clothing for our students that need it during the day! These clothes are kept in the main office and used when students have a variety of accidents (going down wet slides, slipping in mud, etc.). Thank you so much for supporting our students!

Snack Donations Needed
Please consider donating snacks for students at Greenbriar West Elementary! These snacks are kept with our counseling staff and in the main office to help support students who don't have a snack during the school day. Thank you for your support!

On January 3, Chantilly HS will be hosting a Varsity Basketball Double Header. We will be celebrating Pyramid Night and welcome families from our feeder schools to attend one or both games!
- 5:30 Girls Varsity vs. Stafford HS
- 7:30 Boys Varsity vs. Stafford HS
- Varsity Sideline cheer will be at both games
All feeder students get in free to the games with a paying adult.
Please wear school spirit gear or school colors!
- Chantilly Pyramid Staff can get in free with their FCPS ID and spirit wear!
