Dear Spring Hill Families,
This week has been full of wonderful musical talent and spirit! On Monday, I was fortunate enough to watch our fabulous select band perform for the school board. It was wonderful! In addition, our incredible chorus performed their winter concert for students on Wednesday. I am so proud of the talent we have at Spring Hill. Performances can be found on the Features section at the bottom of the Spring Hill homepage.
This morning, our Dad's initiative kicked off their first meeting. The purpose of this group is for dad's to have a positive impact at Spring Hill by supporting Spring Hill's mission and the PTO's various events. If you are interested in being part of this group and becoming more involved, please email Dr. Walter Bowman at drbowman@teabowresidential.com.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Amy Briggs

Students in grades 3-8 take the Virginia Growth Assessment (VGA) in fall and winter. The purpose of these assessments is to measure student growth and progress in reading and mathematics content standards.
The focus for VGA test content depends on the testing window:
- Fall VGA tests primarily address content standards from the students' reading and mathematics courses last year.
- Winter VGA tests primarily assess content standards for the reading and mathematics courses the student is taking this year.
📚 Community Review of Elementary English Language Arts Basal Instructional Resources

Parent University: A KID WHO CAN
Raising kids isn’t a walk in the park. Every age comes with its own challenges that parents have to face and work through to help their child in the best way they can. Experts in the field are calling Raising A Kid Who Can: Simple Strategies to Build a Lifetime of Adaptability and Emotional Strength the "parenting playbook" that we all should have on hand to help us raise adaptable, resilient kids. It is written by a child psychiatrist, a parent psychologist, and a child therapist who have spent years distilling the latest parenting science and best practices to answer complex questions such as: Based on all that modern science has to offer, what are the most important things I should try to do in raising my kid? How do we ensure that the next generation can roll with the inevitable punches of daily life?
Join us at our next Parent University on January 12th at 9am, for a presentation and Q&A with co-author of Raising a Kid Who Can and former Spring Hill parent Dr. Heather Tedesco.
