ANTI-TOBACCO AND

ANTI-VAPING CAMPAIGN

The National PTA has collaborated with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids to build on the association’s commitment to educating youth, parents, school boards and local officials on the dangers of e-cigarettes and other tobacco products.

Chantilly PTSA has been awarded a grant to fund our own campaign during the remainder of the school year. Anyone who is interested in volunteering any amount of time can e-mail Nina Zaretsky at secretary@chantillyhsptsa.org. The campaign will kick off after the winter break. Stay tuned for more information!

MENTAL HEALTH ESSAY CONTEST/WEBINARS

The National Institute of Mental Health is inviting students ages 16 to 18 to participate in their "Speaking Up About Mental Health" essay contest. This gives teens an opportunity to make their voices heard and explore ways to reduce the stigma around mental health conditions and those seeking treatment from a mental health provider. The contest opened on December 1st, and the submission deadline is January 16, 2024. Winners will be announced on May 31, 2024.
