♻️Pop Tab Collection

Our school is collecting aluminum pop tabs to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington D.C. Now through December 15, please collect the little tabs you pull to open soda, soup or other aluminum cans and send them into school with your child. The RMHC earns a dollar for every four pounds of aluminum pop tabs we donate, and every dollar helps families who have a child in the hospital. It’s a simple way to make a big difference!

🌡️Direct Donations - Please & Thank You! (from the PTA)

Our Direct Donation campaign is going strong but we still need your help! We've raised close to $4,000 thanks to the many generous donations of our Mosaic families and friends. Our goal is $10,000, which will all be used to directly support our Mosaic students, teachers, and staff. Please help us continue growing as a PTA that can support our school with exciting assemblies, transportation for field trips, classroom supply funds, and after-school enrichment classes. Remember, your donation is tax-deductible (EIN is at the link below) and some employers will match it if you ask. We appreciate all donations large and small. Thank you! Make a Direct Donation Here.

🧣Lost & Found - Last Call!

The school has no space for Lost & Found overflow this year. Please take time to visit the cafeteria before 10:30am or after 1:45pm on a school day before Winter Break. On the last day of school before Winter Break, all items will be collected and donated to local shelters.

❄️ Preparing for Winter Weather

weather video

Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather-related closing decisions are made.

FCPS’ website is generally the first place where we will post an emergency weather closing. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated

Be sure to plan for the winter season. Make sure your contact information is up-to-date in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and plan for childcare if appropriate.

❤️SEL Screener Results

One of the ways FCPS supports the mental wellness of all students is through the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener. Students in grades 3-12 took this screener in October, which gives information about their skills such as achieving goals, handling emotions, building relationships with adults and peers, and making good choices.

The screener also helps students evaluate their school community’s efforts to make them feel valued, included, and supported. Screener data is used to create learning, experiences, and environments for students to succeed.

In early December, families will be able to view student SEL Screener results in SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent by mail.

For more information about the screener please visit the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener webpage. For help understanding your child’s results or ideas to support them at home, review the Family Guide or contact your child’s school.
