Inclusive Schools Week
Since its inception in 2001, Inclusive Schools Week has celebrated the progress that schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population, including students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors.
Inclusive Schools Week allows us all to take a moment to applaud the progress we’ve made toward building more inclusive school communities while pledging to continue our work toward becoming a more inclusive society. The theme for this year’s Inclusive Schools Week is ‘Draw Me In’. Key Center students are observing the week by creating a Key Center School Art Quilt. Each student is creating their unique artwork on a canvas panel. When the panels are placed together like a patchwork quilt, it will demonstrate how special our school environment is when all of the unique and special individuals come together to learn and grow.
