Did You Know...

The Turkey Trot tradition dates back to 1896, when the YMCA held the first Buffalo Turkey Trot in Buffalo, N.Y. Only six runners participated in the race that year, running on stretches of dirt road for roughly five miles. Here is a list of Turkey Trots in the DC area.

Renaissance Feaste

The Langley Chorus Feaste ticket sales are live and going fast.  Buy soon to secure your ticket for December 1st or 2nd at 7:00 PM. This annual holiday tradition features 80 students from the Madrigals, Chamber, Concert and Treble Choruses. Dinner tickets are $35 and include a choice of grilled chicken or vegetarian pasta entrees as well as pumpkin Bundt cakes baked by Seth Ludlow, INC.  Student stadium seating (no meal) is available for $10.00. Come join us for an evening of merriment and amusement. Book Talk "Raising a Kid Who Can"

Come join Anna Brown, LHS school psychologist and Jordan Payne, LHS social worker for an engaging parenting conversation.  They will review the book, Raising a Kid Who Can – Simple Strategies to Build a Lifetime of Adaptability and Emotional Strength, written by local clinical professionals.  The book talk will be held in the Lecture Hall on December 13 at 9:30 am. Please RSVP to jbzimmerman@fcps.edu if you can attend.

How to Access Free Resources from Tutor.com

 

 

FCPS students continue to have unlimited access to live, 24/7, one-on-one online tutoring services through Tutor.com at no cost to families. Student participation is optional and parents/guardians can opt their student(s) out of accessing the services. Detailed information and FAQs are available on the Tutor.com Online Tutoring Services webpage.

Students can access Tutor.com via a link in Schoology. Additional information about how to log in and access a tutor is provided to families via the following: Middle & High - How It Works. Questions not answered in the posted resources may be sent to OnlineTutoring@fcps.edu.


No Food Deliveries!

Please note that students are not allowed to receive food deliveries during the school day due to security concerns. If a student needs food, they can contact their counselor, cafeteria staff, or administrator for assistance.
