Happy Sunday Crestwood Families,
Thank you to our Veterans. Thank you for your service and for supporting our school community. It was great to see our guest speakers sharing their experinces and answering questions for students. Thank you to everyone at our school who made our Veterans Day a very special one. Please keep reading below to find out the many ways our Veterans were honored at Crestwood ES.
We are looking forward to seeing our families for our Thanksgiving luncheon which will take place on November 15. Remember that all Crestwood students will receive a free lunch. If you would like to purchase an adult lunch, the cost will be $4.75 per person - cash only. Please keep reading below to learn more about our Thanksgiving luncheon.

Outstanding Employee Award Nominations
Nominations will be/are now open for the Outstanding Employee Awards! To submit a nomination for a Crestwood Outstanding Employee in one of the categories below, please complete the nomination through this Google form link. You may nominate one employee at our school or multiple employees (one individual may only nominate one employee per category.)
All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category. The google form link has more information regarding the criteria for each of these awards and the eligibility requirements are below.

Outstanding Teacher
- Eligibility: Has at least three years of experience as a teacher (in any school/school district); librarians are included in this category

Outstanding New Teacher
- Eligibility: Has up to three years of experience as a teacher (in any school/school district); librarians are included in this category

- Eligibility: Has up to three years of experience as a building principal (in any school/school district)

Impact Aid
Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available online in SIS ParentVUE. If you have not already filled out the form online, we provided paper forms in Thursday folders on Thursday, Nov. 2nd. Please be sure to return paper forms by Friday, November 17th. The electronic form will continue to be available in SIS ParentVUE until January 2024.

Fourth and fifth-grade students, guided by their music teacher Ms. Adam, recorded a spirited rendition of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" as a touching tribute to honor veterans.

The cost of lunch is $4.75 for adults/siblings. Lunch is free for all students. Tickets will be in the cafeteria on the day of the luncheon. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to purchase your ticket.
Please reach out to your child's teacher to see when you can join us for lunch. We are looking forward to our time together!

Bond Referendum
Thank You Voters! 2023 School Bond Referendum Passed
Thank you to the Fairfax citizens who supported the 2023 Bond Referendum. Roughly 67% of those voting in the 2023 election supported the $435 million bond referendum, continuing a long history of school bond approvals in Fairfax County.

Students Design Observance Graphics
🎨 Observance Graphics Created by Students in Design Challenge
In May, the FCPS Office of Communications called for entries for new graphics to help acknowledge the religious and cultural observances identified on the 2023-24 School Year Calendar. Eleven winning designs will be featured on FCPS and school social media platforms, and in newsletters leading up to the holidays starting with Diwali, which falls on Sunday, November 12.
