Dear Bee Families,
We hope this letter finds you and our bees well. As we are now in the month of November, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. We have loved seeing families during parent-teacher conferences. November is a special time at our school as it marks a period of growth, reflection, and unity. This month, our teachers will focus on fostering a sense of gratitude and appreciation among our students, helping them understand the importance of being thankful for our community and showing kindness to one another. We encourage you to join us in these efforts by engaging in conversations with your children about gratitude and participating in activities that promote a sense of community. Together, we can help instill valuable life lessons that will benefit your children for years to come.
Progress Reports will be going home next week. Please take a moment to celebrate the growth your child has made this quarter. This week and next week you will see the friendly faces of The Herndon Police Department. They will be at Kiss and Ride to give guidance about seatbelt safety. Wearing seatbelts is of paramount importance for children's safety in vehicles. Seat belts reduce the risk of injury and save lives. They also help distribute the force of a crash across the strongest parts of a child's body, minimizing the impact on vulnerable areas and providing vital protection in case of an accident.
We appreciate your active involvement in your child's education and look forward to a month filled with learning, growth, and gratitude. Today is Veterans Day. Thank you Veterans for your service to our country, and for continuing to serve our local community and our children! Special shout out to our own Mr. Anderson and Mr. Espinoza for their service to our country. As always, we are a team. Please let us know what questions or celebrations you might have.
Warmly,
The Fab 5

National Family Engagement Month
This month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers. Strong family support is vital to student well-being and success.
FCPS has many resources designed to increase engagement and partnerships with families while fostering academic success and social-emotional growth.
Additionally, every school has a family liaison who welcomes and orients families and helps them understand the school's culture, policies, procedures, and practices. They can help connect families to resources in the community.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Herndon ES family liaisons, Raquel Snyder rbsnyder@fcps.edu and Yessenia Mendoza yymendozaalv@fcps.edu
