Full-Time AAP (Level IV) AAP Referral ReminderReminder: Window for Full-time AAP Referrals Closes on December 15, 2023Parents/guardians of students in Grades 2-7 who would like their student to be considered for full-time advanced academic programs may submit the AAP Full-Time (Level IV) Referral Form and supplemental materials to Sandy Murray at saguidicemur@fcps.edu no later than December 15, 2023. The window for families to submit a referral for full-time AAP services is the first day of school through December 15, annually. All forms may be found on the AAP forms page. No late referrals for Full-Time AAP services will be accepted. Submitting a referral form for full-time AAP will initiate a process that begins at the local school and is then completed at the central office level. Our school will put together a portfolio that includes multiple data which are considered holistically. At the central office level, a committee of six trained professionals from various schools and roles will review the portfolio materials to determine eligibility for full-time placement. Eligibility decisions are communicated by early April. For more information, please visit the Advanced Academic Programs website. Feel free to reach out to Mrs. Murray with any questions at saguidicemur@fcps.edu
Bookworm Central Book FairNovember 13-17The Bookworm Central Book Fair will take place in the library November 13-17! Monday and Tuesday will be preview days only where students will come with their teacher to preview the books and create a wish list of books they would like to purchase. Wednesday through Friday books will be available for sale; teachers will have a set time for students to visit the library to purchase books. Parents may shop the book fair any time it is open Wednesday-Friday. Can’t make it to the book fair and don’t want to send your child to school with cash or a credit card? Try using the eWallet feature! You can set a maximum amount for your child to spend at the book fair and your credit card will be charged for only the amount your child spends, without going over the maximum amount you determine! Just remember to PRINT OUT a copy of the eWallet for your child to bring to the book fair. Watch this short video for simple directions on how to set up an eWallet account: How to set up eWallet here. To get started, visit the Registration link for eWallet. Book Fair Hours: Weds: 8:30 am–3:20 pm (families are welcome to visit during Bucky’s Bash!) Thurs: 8:30 am–3:20 pm (closed for lunch 11:40-12:15) Fri: 8:30 am–12:00 pm
Federal Impact Aid Survey: Now OnlineFCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. To make it easier, the form is now available online in SIS ParentVue. More information on accessing the form here. Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. Pre-printed paper forms were sent home last week. Please return your Federal Impact aid form to your child's teacher as soon as possible.
