Navy Update - 11.5.23

Happy November!

The first quarter of the 2023-24 school year is officially over. Report cards will go home to families on Tuesday, November 14th.

It's the perfect time of year to take learning outside.  Our 4th grade team took the opportunity to work on their Yehakin projects at one of our many outdoor open spaces.

Supporting Our Navy Community Veterans!

thanks veterans

In honor of Veterans Day and to show our support for our Navy veterans and their families, please have your child(ren) wear red, white, and/or blue on Friday, November 10th.

Veterans Day Celebrations

Information regarding our Veteran’s Day celebration was originally shared the 10.22 newsletter.

This is a reminder to all families who have signed up to participate. 7:45 am will be our Veterans Day breakfast in the library. Then later that day we will hold the car parade to celebrate our families. The parade begins at 2:15 pm and will conclude by 2:45 pm. Please see the map if you signed up to participate in the parade.

Thanks to Maryn Simon for organizing this incredible event as well as our PTO for helping to make this possible. We are truly lucky to have such an incredible staff and community. And most importantly, we are thankful to have this opportunity to celebrate all of our families who have served or are serving in the military.

Native American Heritage Month

Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month. It is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native Americans. It is also a time to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges they have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.
