The fall season came to a close Friday evening with varsity football traveling to Rock Ridge. It was an exciting and eventful fall for Atoms athletics. However, we now turn to the winter season which begins Monday! Make sure to check out the tryout schedule and coaches contact information below.

Atoms Athletics Recap
A quick recap from the week is below.
Atoms Football closed out the season with a road game to Rock Ridge High School in Ashburn. The Atoms battled all night but fell short to the Phoenix to complete their season. The Atoms had multiple injuries across the board throughout the season but the team never backed down from their opponent. The grit, poise, and determination this team played with all season is reflected from their first year coach Chris Bagot. The Atoms lose multiple seniors but return a core group of players the Atoms coaching staff look forward to growing throughout the off-season.
Winter Season Tryouts
Winter sports include basketball, swim & dive, wrestling, gymnastics, and indoor track. In order to participate, there are 2 items that need to be completed prior to the first day of tryouts: 1) Sports Physical - Completed and turned in to Athletic Trainers Ryan Hughes and 2) Activity Registration. This is an online submission that encompasses the Emergency Care Form and Concussion Education Training.
Any athlete without a physical and registration on file by Friday, November 3 will not be allowed to tryout on Monday, November 6. Athletes submitting physicals and registration post November 3 will be eligible to tryout the day after the physical and registration have been submitted. Atoms Boosters Concession Stand Help
Special Ask... Atoms After School Snack Bar
As many of you know, the Atoms Athletic Boosters has been able to open our concessions stand after school for your children to grab a bite to eat prior to heading to their activities. If your schedule allows, please consider volunteering 1 day a week or even just 1-2 days a month. The hours are 3:15-4:15. This is a rare benefit in Fairfax County that we are able to provide for our kids, but we can’t do it without parent help. Partners for Safe Teen Driving
Included in Grade 10 Health & PE is one quarter, or 30-36 hours, of in-classroom driver education. To get your driver’s license in Virginia, you must successfully complete, or pass, the classroom portion of driver education. You must also attend a 90-minute parent-teen traffic safety program, Partners for Safe Teen Driving, or PSTD, with a parent/guardian. Annandale High School is hosting five (5) PSTD presentations this school year, one each quarter and two during the fourth quarter. They are free to students enrolled in Health & PE 10 at Annandale HS and begin at 6:30pm in the auditorium. You must attend with a parent/guardian, arrive ON TIME as the door is locked at 6:30pm, and you must remain the duration of the presentation for your attendance to be verified. Choose a date convenient for you and your parent/guardian. You may attend a session outside of your Driver Education quarter.
