You and your student are invited to join us on an upcoming educational travel experience abroad! We are thrilled to inform you that our school is organizing two exciting trips for our students, offering them valuable educational and experiential opportunities.
We will be holding an informational meeting on Thursday, November 16th from 6:30 to 7:30 in the South County Middle School Lecture Hall to discuss these experiences. Enter at Door #2. At the meeting, the itinerary, activities, dates, academic opportunities, and cost will be covered.
It is mandatory to register for the meeting. Find the details of these trips below, and please register for the experience you would like to learn more about.
Trip 1: Rome and Athens
Group Leader: Keddie McKnight
Travel Season: Spring Break 2025
Welcome to an educational journey of a lifetime. From the ancient wonders of Athens and Rome to the breathtaking landscapes of the Greek islands, we hope to immerse ourselves in the arts, culture, food, and stories of our past.
I hope this trip will make a unique impression on students and chaperones alike. I share the sentiments of the EF mission statement- ‘to give confidence and freedom to people of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds.’ These real-life lessons go beyond the classroom and foster experiences that allow our students to question, think critically, and become a more well-rounded individual.
Trip 2: Central Europe and the Holocaust
Group Leader: McKenzie McLeod
Travel Season: Summer 2025
Join us on a meaningful journey to the historic Holocaust sites in Europe. This is a unique opportunity to pay tribute, remember, and learn about the tragic events of the past. Our carefully curated itinerary, created by EF Tours, will take participants to significant destinations, providing a deeper understanding of this dark chapter in human history.
Collaborating with our Travel partners, EF Tours, Mr. McLeod, and Ms. McKnight would like to invite our students at SCMS and their parents to participate in this educational journey.
In addition to preserving the memory of Holocaust victims, our goal is to raise awareness among our participants about the importance of tolerance and respect while exploring the Portrait of a Graduate attribute: Ethical and Global Citizen.
We are aware of the sensitivity of this subject. But we believe visiting these profound places serves as a reminder of the human capacity for both good and evil and motivates us to create a better future fueled by compassion, understanding, and inclusivity.
RSVP for both trips here. Can’t attend? Use the same RSVP link and mark “interested” to be sent the tour information.
There are limited spots on these trips, so we would love to see you at this meeting to learn more!
Thank you,
Ms. Keddie McKnight, English Teacher
Mr. McKenzie McLeod, History Teacher
