Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey!
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available online in SIS ParentVUE. If you have not already filled out the form online, we are providing paper forms this week in Thursday folders. Please be sure to return paper forms by Friday, November 17. The electronic form will continue to be available in SIS ParentVUE until January 2024.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For more information, watch this video and visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.
Need to Register for ParentVUE?
Learn how to activate your SISParentVUE account, so you can easily submit your survey.
Technical support for using ParentVUE or completing the survey online is available by submitting a Parent Support Request ticket. Select SISParent in the Application dropdown menu and enter Federal Impact Aid Survey under Issue Description. Or, call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).

 Sangster's Renovation
Did you know? 🏗️
Some of the money from the upcoming $435 million bond vote is expected to fund the planning and design phase of our school’s construction project. The building and renovation of schools is not funded through the annual FCPS operating budget. Instead, voter-approved bonds allow payment for these projects over time.

 Friendly Reminders
🔖Labeling Student Items
Now that the weather is getting colder, please make sure student names are in jackets, sweatshirts, coats, hats, mittens, etc. When they inevitably get lost or forgotten somewhere, if we can find a name we will return the item to the student. Labeling these items helps to keep our Lost and Found collection to a minimum. Thanks for your help!
🧥Lost and Found
Speaking of the Lost and Found - All lost and found items will be outside the school from 7:45am – 6:30pm October 30th - November 3rd. Please stop by and find your student’s missing items. Any items not picked up by the 3rd will be collected and donated.
📅End of the First Quarter
Friday, November 3, is the last day of the first quarter and a two-hour early release for students. Schools are closed for students on Monday, November 6, for a school planning day, and Tuesday, November 7, for a teacher workday. See the complete school year calendar.
⏰ Daylight Saving Time Ends
Daylight saving time will end Sunday, November 5, at 2 a.m. Don’t forget to move your clocks back one hour!
Native American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native Americans. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about historical challenges they have faced and how tribal citizens have worked to conquer them.

This week’s focus is on noticing how our words and actions can affect others in a positive or a negative way. What are some things that we can do improve the world around us? What are some things we can say that can have a positive impact on the people around us?
The site P2 For Families is available for connecting P2 to your home and you can learn more about the site here. Many of the slides are password protected and the password is P2 (case-sensitive).
