Greetings Irving Families!
I apologize, last week, I meant to include information about Halloween at Irving MS. Tomorrow, if they would like to, students are allowed to dress up for Halloween in school appropriate costumes. Please do NOT have your child bring candy to school - especially on Wednesday through the remainder of the week. We have people in our building with a variety of allergies and out of respect for all of our staff and students, we ask that candy be enjoyed at home. Also, so that all students are able to participate in dressing up (should they wish) AND still participate in instruction and learning, below is a list of prohibited costume items. Should students arrive at school with any of these prohibited items, they will be asked to leave the item in the office for parent/guardian pick up and/or be asked to change.
Lastly, our staff will be joining in the fun with our annual staff Halloween Costume Contest. Students will be voting for the winner via a Google form. We look forward to a fun day!
Prohibited Costume Items:
- No weapons or look alike weapons
- Masks (this does not include masks worn to cover the nose and mouth for medical purposes).
- No dripping makeup or gore
- Please make sure that the costume is not so large that it prevents your child from sitting at their desk and/or blocks the view of other students.
Thank you!
Cindy Conley
