Edison & Hayfield Pyramid Strings Concerts

Strings 1

Pictured above is Ms. Edwards, Principal, with two RHES strings players.

Rose Hill strings students participated in the Hayfield and Edison Pyramid Concerts this past week. These kiddos had back-to-back performances where they were able to dress up in costumes and play a few pieces of music with the middle school and high school students. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Rockets to see where music can take them! Thank you to Mrs. Babb, the Rose Hill strings teacher, and parents for supporting our students with this opportunity.

Annual RHES Fun Run Fundraiser

On Friday, November 17, 2023, RHES students will be participating in the Rose Hill Elementary 2023 Fun Run!

The Fun Run is an entertaining and healthy way to help raise money for the school and student activities. For example:

  • Purchasing teachers new chairs, they deserve to roll around their classroom in comfort or do all of their paperwork in comfort
  • Bookshelves
  • School Activities

In previous years, the RHES Fun Run raised $12,000-$20,000 for the school. Our goal this year is to raise at least $15,000.

Beginning November 1, 2023, students (or their parent/guardian) should:

  1. REGISTER the student at mybooster.com to create their fundraising page and set a goal
  2. SHARE the student’s fundraising page link with friends and family using the “Share” button on MYBOOSTER.COM and CHECK the student’s fundraising page frequently to track their progress

*go here for tips to register your student (https://boosterthon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12386017132695-How-do-I-register-my-student- )

The top class will earn extra recess and a pizza party.

We will also have some fun school-wide prizes. School-wide prizes are:

  • Administration will wear funny costumes (for $5,000 raised)
  • Ice cream for all students (for $10,000 raised)
  • Ice Cream Sundae the Principals at a fun assembly (for $15,000 raised)

The day of the Fun Run, students should wear sneakers, comfortable bottoms, and either their RHES spirit wear, or the school colors (red and blue).

If you have any questions, please send a message to: ptacommunicationsrosehill@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support of your student and our school!

RHES AAP Expansion Information

Starting next year, Rose Hill will become a local full-time AAP provider. This continuum of services will begin with the rising 3rd grade class (current 2nd graders) meaning that if a student is eligible to receive advanced academic services, they can do that at Rose Hill and no longer need to go to a center. This is especially helpful for students who are in the immersion program.

In previous years, parents would have to make the decision to either leave the immersion program and go to an AAP center to receive full-time advanced academic services or stay at Rose Hill and not get those services. While it is still an option for families to go to an AAP center if they'd like, it's nice knowing that staying at Rose Hill is going to be an option too.

The expansion of services will start next year at 3rd grade and scale-up every year after so that by the 2027-2028 school year, grades 3, 4, 5, & 6 will be offering Level IV services. If you have questions about this, you can contact either Ms. Edwards, Principal, or Mrs. Freeman, Advanced Academics Resource Teacher.

Book Character Day!

Character Day 1

1st grade team as characters from Harry Potter

So many teachers, teams, and students dressed up as their favorite book characters. It was quite a bit of fun listening to the students explain to their friends what their costume was and the book it was tied too. At Rose Hill, we encourage our students to work hard to learn but we also take time to have fun! This is a great example of doing just that!
