Lemon Road had a busy and fun week last week! We dressed up each day as a part of Digital Citizenship week, wore our Costumes to celebrate October birthdays, 6th graders shared their Astronomy PBL products with family members and staff, and we finished off with a showing of Coco courtesy of the PTA! Please see below for a reminder to complete your Impact Aid form on ParentVue today - this is required for all students.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Spooky Movie Night on Friday - we hope you all had fun! Special thanks as ever to our wonderful volunteers who make these events possible!
Our Coat Drive ends on October 31st - if you have any coats in a good condition that your family no longer needs, please donate them by putting them in the Minion box in the School Lobby.
Lemon Road's Roarin' Read-A-Thon begins Wednesday November 1! Our goal is to raise $20K to be split between covering the approved PTA budget and a technology refresh for the school (new smartboards, screen-beams & projectors). Your time is valuable, so we chose a seamless fundraiser to encourage our lions to read while raising funds for the school! Please activate your child's Read-A-Thon account today. The instructions are straightforward and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.
Your account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress and to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account today:

Thank you so much for your participation and support. Together, we can make this Read-A-Thon an amazing experience for our young readers! Stay tuned for exciting updates throughout the weeks ahead with the announcement of individual and classroom prizes for "most minutes read" and "most money raised"! Go Lions!
As we near Halloween and the season of treats and tricking we have a wonderful opportunity at Lemon Road ES. We can recycle our wrappers instead of putting all that trash into a landfill!
1. Bring your wrappers into school and put them in a labeled plastic bag in your classroom.
2. Our student team will collect the wrappers weekly to put them in our Trash or Treasure box.
3. We’ll send our box of wrappers back to Rubicon recycling and they’ll turn our wrapper trash into reused treasure!
Thank you for helping Lemon Road find and try new ways to help our environment!

Inclement Weather: The winter months are coming and that can often bring challenging weather conditions. FCPS officials monitor weather conditions daily in case school must be cancelled, delayed, or closed early due to weather.
How Can I Find Out If Lemon Road is Closed or Delayed? Please do not call the school office—our phone lines must remain open for emergencies. We receive the information the same way you do. The Superintendent decides whether to delay or close schools by approximately 5:30 a.m. FCPS provides information about closings and delays in many ways including postings to www.fcps.edu, email sent to News You Choose subscribers, area radio and television stations.
-
DELAYED OPENING: (2 hours late) means LRES begins at 10:15 a.m. Buses will use the same bus schedule—just two hours later. When schools open late, parents may NOT drop their children off at school early. School begins at 10:15 a.m. and supervision begins at 10:05 a.m.
-
CLOSED: means the building is closed and all activities that use facilities are canceled, including community use, PTA activities, SACC, etc.
-
EARLY CLOSING: (2 hours early) means LRES ends at 12:55 p.m. Buses will use the same bus schedule—just two hours earlier.
The completion of the Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid is critical for FCPS to obtain its share of federal funds. he Impact Aid Program is a federal grant program designed to directly compensate local school districts that have been financially impacted by federal activities. The program's mission is to reimburse local school districts for local revenues lost due to the presence of federally owned and therefore tax-exempt property.
This year, for the first time, families will have access to the Federal Impact Aid Survey in electronic format via ParentVUE. All parents with a ParentVUE account will be able to complete the survey online using their computer at home. For families unable to complete the survey online, a paper form will be available. We strongly encourage families to fill out the online forms to reduce the paper form management.
- Log into ParentVue between October 16 – 30.
- Once logged in, select the “Online Packets” tab at the top.
- Select “Federal Impact Aid Survey” from the drop-down menu.
Any surveys not completed online by October 31 will be printed and sent home in Wednesday folders on November 1 and must be returned the next day. Need a ParentVue account? Contact Dana Vaughn, LRES Registrar by email: dlvaughn@fcps.edu.
Important: Parents MUST SUBMIT A SIGNED, DATED FORM for each school-aged child in your family.
