Pumpkin Library Showcase

Our Storybook Pumpkin Showcase is growing every day! We have some great storybook representations-stop by to check them out.

Terra Centre Families,

We are about halfway through our Raise Craze fundraiser and are already halfway to our goal!!  We have 160 students registered, 352 completed Acts of Kindness, and have raised $12,160 so far!  Our goal is $20,000 and 500 Acts of Kindness. It's not too late to sign up and complete Acts of Kindness. Our fundraiser ends November 1st. Raise Craze

As a reminder, Friday, November 3, is the last day of the first quarter and a two-hour early release for students. Students in K-6 will be dismissed at 1:25 PM. Schools are closed for students on Monday, November 6, for a school planning day and Tuesday, November 7, for a teacher workday. We look forward to students returning on Wednesday, November 8

Holiday Gift Card Drive

Terra Centre’s Clinical Team is collecting gift cards for families in need this holiday season. We are seeking donations of gift cards to Target, Wal-Mart, or Amazon in amounts of $25 or $50. Any amount, however, is much appreciated!

There is a box in the main office where gift cards can be dropped off through Wednesday, NOVEMBER 15. The box is labeled “Terra Centre Holiday Gift Card Drive.” If you have questions feel free to reach out to counselor Jackye Toth at jstoth@fcps.edu or social worker Laurel Hanlon at llhanlon@fcps.edu.Thank you for helping those in need this holiday season!

**All gift card donations will go to Terra Centre families**

Trash or Treasure

This year Terra Centre students and families are encouraged to help keep candy wrappers out of the landfill. Help Terra Centre collect empty candy wrappers in our “Trash or Treasure” box in the main entrance of the school. These wrappers will be cleaned, sorted, and specially processed into pellets which can then be reused for many different new plastic products. Let’s help Terra Centre Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle this fall season. (Please only place empty wrappers in the box).

Tips to Help Keep Children Safe

The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) reminds parents and caregivers that it’s important to talk to your children about safety topics including:

  • What parents should know about their children’s plans.
  • Having a meeting spot in case of getting separated.
  • Establishing safe areas.
  • What to do if you are followed.

Visit the FCPD website for more details on how to discuss safety topics.

FCPS Buildings Benefit All Community Members

In addition to our students and teachers, we estimate millions of visits by students and community members to Fairfax County public schools. Most of the public meeting and recreational facilities available in the county are FCPS facilities. FCPS works with the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services and with the Fairfax County Park Authority to ensure that school facilities and athletic fields are available to the public after school hours.

The 2023 Bond Referendum will be on the ballot in November. Vote on Tuesday, November 7. Learn more about registering to vote.
