It was a fun Digital Citizenship Spirit Week! London Towne students and staff will continue to be leaders in creating a positive culture around how they use media and technology. Thanks for learning with us and supporting our students!
Digital Citizenship Week
Hello LTES Families,Ā
It was a great week around the Towne as we enjoyed learning about being responsible digital citizens and showing our school spirit by participating in our Digital Citizenship School Spirit Week.
While Digital Citizenship skills are embedded in our daily practices and routines year-round, this week we took the time to shine an extra spotlight on these essential skillsā¦especially ones that includes fun outfits!Ā This yearās Digital Citizenship Week in FCPS focused on supporting studentsā mental and physical health in relation to technology use.Ā
Our daily spirit week themes and fun outfits encouraged students and staff to reflect on questions such as:
- How does our online activity affect the digital footprint of ourselves and others?Ā (š§¦ Wacky Sock Day)
- How can we know if something we see or hear online is true?Ā (šš© Hat Day)
- How do we balance our time with technology?Ā (šš¾Sports Day)
- How can I be kind online so others feel safe and comfortable?Ā (ššļø Pajama Day)
- How can we stand up for others online?Ā (š¦š§” LTES Unity Day)
These reflection questions were discussed in our classrooms and on our daily student-run news show.Ā Please check out the series of short videos we used to reinforce these tenets of quality digital citizenship:Ā Meet the Digital Citizens, produced by Common Sense Media, a comprehensive resource for parents and educators who teach safe media and technology choices.Ā
Thank you for your continued partnership! If you have additional questions, please contact Mrs. Lanier, our School Based Technology Specialist atĀ relanier@fcps.edu.Ā
