Good afternoon, Franklin Community,
This week we celebrated Digital Citizenship Week here at Franklin MS and across the entire school division. We shared important reminders on how to stay safe using social media and other digital platforms, and also promoting using these tools in a productive manner. As adults, we know there are many positive ways to use technology to support our lives and relationships with others but we also know there are many dangers. If you have not already done so, please take a look at the resources we shared on our social media channels, including parent tips from Common Sense Media. Please reach out to your child’s counselor or assistant principal if you need any support or have concerns regarding your child’s social media interactions.
Today we are also celebrating our Chantilly Pyramid Night and the CHS football game! All Franklin students and families are encouraged to join us this evening for a 7 PM kickoff versus Centreville High School. Students wearing Franklin MS (or other pyramid school) spirit wear/attire will receive free entry with a paying adult. We ask all students to be accompanied by an adult. We hope to see you there tonight!
In the spirit of continued celebration, I want to congratulate our 7 students who participated in the Thomas Jefferson Intermediate Math Open competition last weekend. Our team came home with 2 awards in this competition against students from all over Northern Virginia! Congratulations to our team!
And lastly, tomorrow we are hosting this week’s cross country meet at 8:40 am! While we were unfortunately rained out last weekend, we are excited for the chance to host again this week and cheer on all of our runners. Thank you in advance to so many of you who are supporting our meet as volunteers on the course or for the PTA - we couldn’t do this without your help!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you at one of our events these next couple of days. As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns at MLCase@fcps.edu.
Sincerely,
Michelle Case
Interim Principal
