Unity Day at Great Falls ES
October is bullying prevention month. At Great Falls ES, we will be working with our students to express creative and supportive ways to express the importance of creating a kind and inclusive school community. Below are our planned activities:
-
Tomorrow, October 18th, all students and staff will celebrate Unity Day by wearing orange to emphasize the message that bullying is not acceptable.
-
Our kindergartners and First graders will write or draw a way they can be kind to others on a pumpkin to be displayed around the school.
-
Our 2nd - 6th graders will write why they stand up to bullying on a strip of paper. We will use this to make a paper chain to hang up to show our strength as we unite to stand up to bullying. Our older students will also have the opportunity to create and display a Be Kind Pumpkin with our primary students.
These activities also fit nicely with our Positivity Project and MARK character traits of creativity and understanding our words and actions.
We hope you’ll join us by reflecting with your child(ren) about their commitment to supporting our efforts to create the best school community possible for ALL students.
