Bike, Ride, and Roll Day at Rose Hill!

Bike

It was so much fun walking many of our students bike, roll, or walk to school Wednesday, October 4th to celebrate this day of getting a bit of exercise rather than riding in the car or bus. We owe our families a huge thank you for supporting this event! Many parents were seen carrying or walking the bikes back home after the morning school bell rang. The kids have so much joy when they arrive and even seeing their younger siblings participate is just so much fun! Our FCPD partners also need to be thanked for taking the time to escort our riders as they were on Rose Hill Drive to help ensure safety. We are looking forward to doing again in the spring!

Book Character Day

If students would like, they may dress up as their favorite book character Friday, October 27th. We are encouraging our teacher teams to do it as well so it should be a fun day! Some ideas would be Harry Potter, Dr. Seuss, Pippi Longstocking, or Paddington; and of course there are so many more ideas out there. Guidelines are:

  • No masks, meaning faces cannot be covered
  • Costume needs to be related to a book character
  • No real or fake weapons, guns, swords, or knives (even if they are plastic or made from foam, they will not be allowed)
  • Proper footwear needs to be worn, no high-heels or slippers

If you have questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

Digital Consent - Action Needed

In the last four weeks, we have increased the number of digital consents from 13% to 21%. Thank you to those who have done this already and if you haven't done it yet, please do. It is required for each student. You can read about it here as well as give consent. You do need your SIS Parent VUE Username and Password. Please take a few minutes to complete this. We appreciate it!

harvest lunch

Family members are invited to eat lunch with their student(s) on November 15th. Visitors should plan to bring their own lunch. Because of staffing and supply chain challenges, visitors will not have the option of purchasing a school lunch. Below is the lunch schedule for the grade levels. We look forward to having a lunch with our Rose Hill families!

11:00-11:30 - Grade 4
11:30-12:00 - Grade 5 & 6
12:00-12:30 - Kindergarten
12:30-1:00 - Grade 2
1:00-1:30 - Grade 1
1:30-2:00 - Grade 3

Attached are the invitiations both in English and Spanish.

Talking Points Messaging

The Rose Hill team uses Talking Points regularly to communicate directly with families. It's quick and allows users to send photos, short messages, and you can even use an app, which allows for a more seamless experience. The benefit of Talking Points is you can type and receive your messages in any language you choose! If you have not done so already, we would encourage families to download the app. Attached is a flyer with more information.

Health Fair

Rose Hill Health Fair was a Success!

Last Saturday, Rose Hill held a health fair for the neighborhood and it was well attended. Dental cleanings, vaccines, neighborhood health resources, and many more things were offered! This was our first time doing an event like this and we will be definitely doing it again! Many thanks to Family Liaison Kate Pennington and Social Worker Allison DeGregorio (both in the last picture with Principal Rachal Edwards) who coordinated the event. We also appreciate the community partner who came on a rainy Saturday to support our families.

Federal Impact Aid Survey

This year, families will have access to the Federal Impact Aid Survey in electronic format via ParentVUE. Our IT teams have worked with the Online Registration System to help digitize the Impact Aid Survey. All parents with a ParentVUE account will be able to complete the survey online using their computer at home. For families unable to complete the survey on-line, a paper form will be available October 31st. Also, families who do not complete the online application by the requisite deadline will be provided with a printed survey form. We strongly encourage families to fill out the online forms to reduce the paper form management. October 16th is when the Federal Impact Aid Survey in ParentVue will open.
