Dear Stone Families,

Fall is here and the weather is changing. We still believe in taking our outdoor  break daily for a reset and recharge moment. Please encourage your student to dress appropriately for the weather and going outside for 15 minutes daily.

Upcoming Events

October 19th will be a busy day at Stone as we celebrate  our after school program, cross country athletes and more during our first pep rally of the year. The afternoon will be a NJHS Walk for Hunger and finally from 3:30-4:30pm we will have our after school Fall Ball. Tickets are $3.00 and can be purchased during lunches all next week. There will be dancing, games, and prizes. It's sure to be a good time!

Please remind your students about appropriate behaviors in these various settings and activities. We want to continue having these activities throughout the school year and we do not want the behaviors of a few to dictate the experience for all.

School Picture Day

School Picture Day is coming Monday October 23rd & Tuesday October 24th 2023  . Pictures will be available approximately two weeks following our school's photo day. underclass@vosphoto.com

Don’t forget to purchase a yearbook (yearbookforever.com) as well so that you have forever memories of school picture days and more. More information can be found on our website

News from the Health Room

Vision and hearing screening will be held on November 8th and 9th for all 7th graders and all 8th grade students who are new to FCPS. The purpose of screening is to identify students who need further evaluation due to difficulty seeing the screening chart or hearing the screening tones. If your child wears glasses, please be sure that glasses are at school on screening day.

Parents will be notified by letter if screening results indicate that further evaluation is needed.

Prompt follow-up with your health care provider is recommended as vision and hearing difficulties can interfere with learning.  Questions?  Contact Reggie Santiago, RN, BSN at  rsantiago@fcps.edu

Stone EPF Food Pantry

Our Stone EPF Food Pantry is sponsored by a local community organization, Food for Neighbors. You might have seen their red bag collections across the county on Saturdays throughout the year. This holiday season s Food For Neighbors plans to provide local families with Holiday Meals at Thanksgiving. If you would like to learn how you can help students and their families please visit the Food For Neighbors website. Every $50 donation provides a meal for a family. Your generosity can make a difference for our Stone Panthers.

PTSA Meeting

Our October PTSA meeting is coming up soon on October 17, 2023 at 7:00pm in the Stone MS Library. I hope to see you there!

Let’s have a great week Panthers!

Sincerely,
