MHS PTSA eNews, October 11, 2023

Our therapy dog friends return this Thursday, October 12, from 11:00am-1:30pm. We are expecting four or five pups, some “old” familiar furry faces, and some “first-timer” dog visitors to MHS!

Mock ACT Test

The McLean PTSA is partnering with EC Tutoring to offer the ACT practice test. The mock ACT test will be available to students on November 18, 2023 at 9:00 am. The registration fee is $20 per test. To register, click here for November 18.  

*** Please remember to identify yourself as a McLean High School student on the registration form to ensure that the PTSA receives credit; the fees support our programs.

After completing the mock ACT test, students will also be eligible to register for a free score report review. Click here to register for the review.

Reflections Art Competition

The Theme for the 2023-24 School Year is "I am Hopeful Because..."

Students can submit theme-based artwork in dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, or visual arts.  

Submission guidelines can be found here. You can also find the entry form with rules for submission categories here and submission forms in English and Spanish are available. Submissions are due by Wednesday, November 15th. If interested or have questions, please contact the Reflections team at reflections@mcleanptsa.org.

Friday Breakfast Station

The PTSA organizes a weekly Friday Breakfast Station during the year stocked with contributions by fellow McLean HS families. The Friday Breakfast Station is set up in the front office and teachers and staff are grateful each week for your donations.  Please click on the links to donate a breakfast item from the sign up list in October. Thank you in advance!

Yearbook Photos Makeup Day 10/30 

Students (9th, 10th and 11th graders) who missed the original picture day, will have an opportunity to have their picture taken on our makeup day, Monday, 10/30 in the Dance Room. Students should check-in with their teacher and then go at the time assigned to their grade:

• JUNIORS will check in with their 2nd period teachers and be photographed during period 2.
• SOPHOMORES will check in with their 5th period teachers and be photographed during Highlander Time.
• FRESHMEN will check in with their 8th period teachers and be photographed during period 8.
