We Need APPLES!!
Are you around this long weekend? Might you be able to supplement our Staff Appreciation Caramel Apple Bar with . . . . APPLES??!!! Many generous families from our Cooper Community have volunteered to provide allllll the fixings for our Caramel Apple Bar. Teachers and staff will report to work on Monday, Oct 9, while students enjoy the three day weekend (Oct 7-9). We are still in dire need of actual APPLES to complete this offering!
Can you slice a bag of apples into quarters, throw on a bit of lemon juice, and deliver them to school on Monday around 9AM? Are you interested in getting some face time with teachers and staff as a volunteer? Sign up for either here !

SCA Fundraiser: Leis for Lahaina
The SCA (Student Council Association) is hosting their first fundraiser of the year: Leis for Lahaina. All proceeds are going to those affected by the recent wildfire in Maui. Students can purchase a lei for $1 (exact change/cash needed) starting Tuesday, September 26th, until Tuesday, October 31st. All students who purchase a lei are then encouraged to wear them on Friday, November 2nd, to show support for the cause! Students can purchase leis during their lunch block from Mr. Klena, or see Mrs. McNulty (room 2402) or Mrs. Harris (room 1407). Mahalo for your support!

Picture Day Volunteers Needed
School pictures will be taken Oct 12 and 13. Volunteers are needed to assist students and photographers during the process. Please sign up here if you’re available to help. Volunteers will be given a code for a $25 credit towards purchase of your student’s photos.

INTEGIRLS:
The D.C. chapter of INTEGIRLS is hosting a beginner-friendly, in-person math competition December 9th from 11 am - 4 pm at the Bioscience Education Center at Montgomery College Germantown Campus! Our mission at INTEGIRLS is to encourage girls and non-binaries in STEM fields through math competitions and events. This year, we will have math competition rounds (individual and team), an estimathon, a speaker event, awards ceremony, provided lunch, and lots of fun STEM activities. Teams of up to 4 students will be able to connect with and enjoy math with other girls and non-binaries around the DMV. There will be over $500 in prizes and fun swag for all participants.

Langley Saxon Stage presents: Alice in Wonderland
Langley Saxon Stage presents Alice in Wonderland. The show runs from Thursday, October 12 to Sunday, October 15. Show times are Thursday, 10/12 ay 7 pm, Friday, 10/13 at 7 pm, Saturday, 10/14 and 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday 10/15 at 2:30 pm.
