Mustang Weekly, October 6,, 2023

principal's message

Hello Mustangs,

It has been a fun-filled week for all of us at South County Middle School. We had a homecoming spirit week in conjunction with South County High School, and our students put everything they had into the themed days we experienced. On top of that, instruction has been extra special in our building, as students have had hands-on experiences in Science, working through Newton’s 1st law (The Law of Motion), exploring percentage change in Mathematics, and cross-curricular work between English and History with The Children of Willesden Lane Project. We hope your students have a great weekend, and as always, please contact us to share any feedback, questions, or concerns. We will see everyone on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, as October 9 is a student holiday. Go Mustangs!

We congratulate Ms. Miranda Hendershot for her promotion to Assistant Principal at Hayfield Secondary School. Ms. Hendershot has been a valuable staff member for the past four years, and we appreciate everything she has done for our school community. Her last day with us at South County Middle School is on October 9, 2023, and our interim Assistant Principal, Chuck Miller, former principal of Twain Middle School, will start with us on October 10, 2023. Again, we are grateful for everything Ms. Hendershot has done for our school community. Congratulations, Ms. Hendershot! She will always be a Mustang!

Justin Simmons | Principal | South County Middle School

From South County High School

Middle school students are reminded that if they plan to attend football games at South County High School, they must be accompanied by a parent and that parent must remain at the game for the entire time they are there. Students will be turned away and not allowed into the stadium if they do not have a parent with them. In addition, backpacks are not allowed, so please ensure students do not bring one with them.
