Details in today's news:
Safe Kiss and Ride Procedures
Cooper’s Kiss and Ride is designed to help keep students safe, as well as maintain traffic flow during arrival/dismissal times. Kiss and Ride drop-off and pick-up occurs in the back parking lot.
It is important to understand, follow, and adhere to the following procedures:
- Kiss and Ride drop-off is located at the back of the school beginning at 7:00AM
- Dead Run Drive is closed during arrival and departures.
- Cars will be permitted at the front of the school for drop-offs, after the buses have cleared the loop.
- If your student is arriving after 7:30, use Door 1.
- We all are responsible to guarantee the safety of all students. Therefore, students should never be dropped off at the following locations:
- Dead Run
- Balls Hill Rd
- Georgetown Pike cross streets
- Parking lot spots as well as handicap spots
- Intersections that lead into the school
- Masonic Temple next door

American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) 10
Cooper will be offering the AMC 10A this year on Wednesday, November 8th, after school at 2:30 PM. The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice examination in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. This test is for students in 10th grade and below and covers the high school curriculum up to 10th grade.
The AMC 8, which we will be hosting in January, is targeted for middle school students in grade 8 and below. The AMC 10 is NOT required for the AMC 8, and historically, the majority of our Cooper students interested in the AMC competitions take only the AMC 8. Details will follow in the coming weeks on how to register for the AMC 8.
If your student is interested in taking the AMC 10A, please sign up using this Google Form (https://forms.gle/2Fv8ztto51B1XdWr7). There will be a $5.00 administrative fee to take the test. The fee can be paid through MySchool Bucks. The deadline to register and pay the fee for AMC 10 is October 13th. As a reminder, the AMC 8 will be offered in January for those who are interested.
Please contact Lisa Walsh and lswalsh1@fcps.edu with any questions.
